Issue 91: October 1993
Qantas Chairman Right on Target
Our editorial last month on Qantas needing to be more innovative certainly struck some chords in the right places. Unfortunately lack of space constrained us greatly on the breadth of what we really wanted to say, so this issue we are going to take the same subject further with a little more specific data on just what we were on about.
In fact, a major ally in our cause for a change of attitude at the Flying Kangaroo comes from none other than Qantas Chairman, Gary Pemberton. In an exclusive interview with John Stackhouse recently in The Bulletin, Pemberton made several comments that nicely linked in with what has to be new thinking at Qantas if it is to be able to regard the final half of this decade as truly its golden years.
