Flight testing of the anti tank Agusta A129 Mangusta helicopter began at Cascina Costa near Milan on September 15. Two more prototypes and a demonstrator will be built and 67 will be produced for the Italian Army. . Pan American is planning a re-enactment on October 26 of its first jet service across the Atlantic 25 years ago. Using a sistership of the original N711PA *Jet Clipper America”, the flight will have a crew of 10 plus 84 passengers and will fly the same route including a stop at Gander.
• The last Lockheed L1011 Tristar was rolled out at Palmdale on August 19. It was the 250th Tristar built and at present is one of five unsold. The first Tristar was rolled out at Palmdale on September 1 1970.
