Australian Aviation and Space Connect are calling on members of the Australian and New Zealand space industry to submit an entry or nominate a colleague or business by Friday, 12 February 2027 to be in the running for the prestigious awards.

The Australasian Space Awards 2027 will celebrate the top-performing professionals and businesses across the Australian and New Zealand space sector and recognise their outstanding contribution to the industry.

Now in its eighth year, the unparalleled awards program honours the leading individuals and businesses driving the development of Australia and New Zealand’s intertwined space economy. Finalists will be announced on 11 March 2027.

The Australasian Space Awards recognises all stakeholders across the space industry – from major listed organisations and corporations servicing the space sector to SMEs, start-ups, academic institutions and associations driving innovation and accelerating the industry forward.

The awards program will culminate in a black-tie gala ceremony on Thursday, 6 May 2027 at Crystal Palace, Luna Park in Sydney. Click here to buy tickets.

The awards are open to all businesses supporting the Australian and New Zealand space industry across fields, including launch, telecommunications, satellites, energy, mining and transport, as well as defence, agriculture, disaster and water management.

There are 11 individual categories on offer, including Academic of the Year, Scientist of the Year, Female Space Leader of the Year – SME, and Innovator of the Year.

Some of the 27 group categories include Start-up of the Year, Indigenous Space Initiative of the Year, Earth Observation Program of the Year, and Defence Business of the Year.

The awards program has set the benchmark for excellence in the space industry, with our most innovative space businesses capitalising on the awards program to drive business growth, attract investment and expand their capabilities for consumers.

By winning one of the coveted Australasian Space Awards, professionals can underpin career advancement while both individuals and businesses will gain national recognition and elevate themselves or their business above the competition.

Winning one of the prestigious Australasian Space Awards reaffirms the role of recipients personally and business recognition-wise in growing both countries’ domestic industries and projecting Australasian space capability globally.

During this pivotal period for the industry, the awards program allows individuals and businesses to gain recognition for their contributions to driving the Australian and New Zealand space industries forward.

The gala ceremony will also provide an opportunity to network with industry leaders, rising stars and peers across the industry.

The Australasian Space Awards program, in conjunction with event stakeholders Space Connect, Momentum Media and a panel of leading space professionals, has developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing and benchmarking Australia’s leading space professionals and businesses.
