Construction is well advanced on the first Boeing 777 high capacity twinjet. The first 777 fuselage section was recently rotated upright in a special turning fixture after it was assembled in an inverted position. Boeing airliner sections are assembled in an inverted position to give workers better access to a(( parts (similarly flying boats were assembled upside down allowing easier access to the hull). Boeing holds 130 firm orders plus 94 options for the 777which is due to roll out next may. (Boeing)

Awa Takes off in China:

AWA has recently been awarded a new contract to provide air navigation systems for a further 18 civil airports in China.

The latest contract means that AWAnow has contracts to install air navigation equipment at a third (or 72) of China’s civil airports. On top of this recent success, AWA owned Interscan has also broken into this lucrative market, and is installing a Microwave Landing System (MLS) at Xian airport in central China.
