V-22 Osprey Returns to Flight Status

The V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft has returned to flight testing following the completion of a series of design changes and modifications to enhance the aircraft’s overall safety.

The “first” flight, which was of short duration, was carried out in the number three prototype and consisted of performance and handling checks in the hover, in and out of ground effect. This was the first time the V-22 had been airborne since the number four prototype crashed at the USMC Quantico Station last year.
