Yet Another Blow For GA!
It seems that barely a month is allowed to pass without some new blow to Australia’s General Aviation industry being delivered from our Federal Government. The latest arrow aimed squarely at GA involves the ill-thought-out grab for gold via selling off our nation’s airports.
Winners are grinners and who wants a loser, so Mr Brereton & Co have decided to sell off the airports individually rather than in regional clusters. By regional clusters we simply mean packaging all of Sydney’s airports together so that mega money-making Mascot can help support the viability of GA-orientated Bankstown, Camden and Hoxton Park. In Melbourne, Tullamarine would encompass Essendon and Moorabbin.
