Boeing is to adopt the designation Corporate 77 Series for future executive versions of its aircraft. For example, an executive-configured Boeing 757-200 becomes a Corporate 77-52 and a Boeing 747-300 for a head-of-state would be designated a Corporate 77-43. The company has 95 Boeing jetliners of four types in corporate and private use worldwide, and this has led it to increase its marketing and support activities for that segment of its business.
On June 20, Bristow Rotorcraft announced it would not proceed with its £89m bid for Westland plc. Westland had reluctantly advised its shareholders a week earlier to accept the bid.
