The Helicopter Aircrew Training System is on track for its first pilot and aircrewman courses from next January
The new Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) is nearing take-off, with Australian Defence Force (ADF) students due to enter the Joint Helicopter School in January next year.
A fleet of 15 Airbus Helicopters EC135 T2+ helicopters has been accepted by HATS prime contractor Boeing Defence Australia, and Boeing has commenced the first ‘train the trainer’ type conversion course for instructors at HMAS Albatross in Nowra, New South Wales.
