Air New Zealand works with upstart UK seatmaker Acro to develop all-new space-saving seat
When Air New Zealand takes its Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft early next year, they will be fitted front to back with a brand new space-saving slimline Series 6 seat from British manufacturer Acro, which wowed audiences at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, the annual event that is the world’s largest passenger experience trade show.
Series 6 is a forerunner of the next generation of economy seats, which is epitomised by startup seatmakers evolving their barebones economy seats seen on low-cost carriers, like Acro’s Series 3, into fully featured products suitable for longhaul or premium airline narrowbody use.
