Wagga Wagga might seem like an unlikely place for the Australian Aviation Hall of Fame.

The commercial hub of NSW’s Riverina region, Wagga Wagga, might not quite have the claims to Australian aviation that Sydney or Melbourne do, or indeed Hamilton in Victoria or Longreach in Queensland, and nor is it Canberra, which is home to many other national institutions. And while far from remote, it is a little out of the way.
