You could be forgiven for thinking that Virgin Australia’s latest advertisement was a tie-in with Mad Men, the decade’s most popular part-panegyric, part-philippic to the best and worst of 1960s culture.
A model with the cheekbones of Ian Thorpe, another who’s a ringer for Nicole Kidman riding to work on a ferry, and one reminiscent of Olivia Wilde pushing her hair back as she speeds along in a vintage drop-top convertible, simmer with a sultry wistfulness as Frank Sinatra sings Come Fly With Me.
