The role and contribution of Australia’s metro airports to both economic and socioeconomic prosperity is often overlooked and misunderstood.

The Australian Airports Association (AAA) has recently addressed this issue through the release of its paper “Securing the future of Australia’s Metropolitan Airports” at the AAA National Conference in November on the Gold Coast. This paper has aimed to shed light on the critical and multifaceted role that metro airports play in servicing the aviation industry, as well as their role in providing opportunities for job growth and economic development to local communities.
