First international deployment for RAAF Rhinos
The RAAF has completed the first international deployment of its new F/A-18F Super Hornet, sending six jets to Malaysia to take part in Exercise Bersama Shield 2011.
Held over May 2-13 over and off the Malaysian peninsula, Bersama Shield (BS2011) marked the 40th anniversary of the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA), and involved aircraft and ships from FPDA members Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia.
