The RAAF’s first KC-30 arrives

The RAAF’s first of five Airbus Military KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transports (MRTTs) ordered under Project Air 5402 finally arrived at RAAF Base Amberley on May 30.

The aircraft, A39-003, the third to be built and the second to be modified by Qantas Defence Services (QDS) in Brisbane, began its delivery flight from Getafe near Madrid on May 27, with its ferry to Amberley conducted by a mix of Airbus and RAAF crews via Las Vegas and Hawaii. Following its arrival, the aircraft was formally accepted by the Commonwealth on May 31.
