Challenges and opportunities for MRO providers
Despite a lingering skills shortage and tough competition from overseas companies, Australian Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) providers are confident that they are in a strong position to maintain their hard-won contracts with a number of locally based aircraft operators, airlines and the ADF.
Representatives from John Holland Aviation Services (JHAS), Hawker Pacific and BAE Systems Engineering Australia spoke to Australian Aviation and provided a broad overview of how the industry is faring, the issue of dealing with overseas competition and what each company is doing to address the current skills shortage in the sector.
