Australia’s largest regional airshow is expected to showcase three Spitfires soaring over the NSW coastline, a motorcycle backflipping over an aircraft and a Piper Cub landing on the back of a moving truck.

The inaugural flight FC275 touched down in Launceston just after 1pm on Wednesday aboard the Saab 340B VH-VEQ, marking the beginning of a new year-round connection between Tasmania’s north and the nation’s capital.

Under the $10 billion Australian Fuel Security and Resilience package, unveiled for next week’s budget, $3.2 billion will be used to establish a government-owned Australian Fuel Security Reserve of around a billion litres to bolster long-term supply and storage of jet fuel and diesel.

SYPAQ is reportedly delivering a fleet of Corvo X Mission Systems alongside a multi-year sustainment program providing ongoing spares, maintenance, training and support capabilities to ensure long-term operational readiness.
