The Securing Australia’s Cleaner Fuels Industry Consultation Paper and Strengthening Australia’s Fuel Security and Resilience Consultation Paper are looking for feedback on plans to shore up Australia’s domestic fuel supply and promote cleaner fuels like sustainable aviation fuel.
The Perth-based company will receive $1.75 million, matched by its own funding, to undertake site assessments, support planning and regulatory approvals, and develop a business case for proposed spaceport locations.
The regional carrier, which brought back the Saturday flights on 28 March to support the peak tourism season, will continue the fourth weekly service from 31 October until 19 December.
The initiative is reportedly being led by Army’s 5th/7th Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment, as a trial alongside other additional capabilities such as reconnaissance drones and unmanned ground vehicles.
VH-NPU “Meekatharra” is the second ex-Qantas F100 to be donated to HARS, following the arrival of VH-NHO at its Parkes museum earlier this year. QantasLink is phasing out its ageing F100 fleet, to be replaced with mid-life Embraer E190s.
The air show, which returned to Surfers Paradise over the weekend after its cancellation in 2025 due to beach erosion, has confirmed events for 2027 and 2028, with the Queensland government expecting the 2028 outing alone to generate more than $28 million for the state’s economy.
