Rolls-Royce/Eds Agreement Continued

Australia Seeks Assist Kuala Lumpur In Tams Development

Airport Industries Australia Inc, the collective of Australian airport infrastructure and ATM providers, has submitted to Kuala Lumpur International Airport Bhd its proposal to assist in the development of the airports Total Airport Development System (TAMS). Julian Green writes that the diverse company members of AIA stand to provide the TAMS project with a broad range of products and services in air traffic management, communications, airport and terminal operational systems. Digital Images International and KRONE (Australia) Technique have submitted to supply FIDS and information systems at KLIA, using their extensive experience gained airports throughout the region. Lochard Environment Systems, which has placed its systems in Amsterdam, EuroAirport Basle Mulhouse Freiburg and Helsinki’s Vantaa Airport, has put forward a variety of flight tracking and environmental monitoring solutions. Optical System Design, Redflex Systems and Stanilite Engineering have promoted their capabilities in fibre optics, systems integration and telecommunications for the KLIA project, as has The Preston Group with its simulation, scheduling and optimisation software, targeted specifically towards the provision of a Terminal Management System. Ambidji, in partnership with Malaysia based Airspace Management Services has already gained an important contract in the KLIA project to plan and design the air traffic management system for the airport and its associated FIR.
