Exercise Pitch Black 2026
Exercise Pitch Black 2026 represents the Royal Australian Air Force’s most significant collective training activity with international partners and allies, solidifying Australia’s position as a pivotal actor in regional air power development.
Conducted from 20 July to 7 August 2026 across RAAF Bases Darwin, Tindal, and Amberley in Australia’s Northern Territory and Queensland, this biennial capstone exercise demonstrates the Air Force’s capacity to co-ordinate and integrate partner air forces across complex, large-scale combat scenarios.
