Ansett/Air New Zealand Saga, Part 2
Negotiations for Air New Zealand to acquire a shareholding in Ansett Australia have taken a different turn, with News Limited remaining committed to retaining its 50% shareholding, and with Air New Zealand instead now in negotiations with TNT.
A recent interview in The Australian newspaper with Ken Cowley revealed that negotiations between Air New Zealand and News earlier this year had not faltered on the issue of price and that as far as he was concerned the deal had been set. Instead Air New Zealand is believed to have pulled out because of failed negotiations with TNT over a shareholders agreement.
