Regional Airline News
Eastern Australia Airlines has leased DHC-8-102 VH-TNU from Sunstate Airlines to cover the painting in Qantas regional airline colours of the remaining three Dash 8s in the Eastern fleet. VH-TNU was first noted at Sydney in mid June carrying Eastern Australia titles. Eastern is reported to have ordered a DHC-8-200 for delivery in February ’96.
Flight West Airlines leased Short 360 VH-MJU from Hazelton Airlines between July 17 and 23 to cover an extensive crew training programme on the Brasilia. Meanwhile EMB-110P2 VH-FNR which was previously operated by Talair as P2-RDO entered service with Flight West in early July. DHC-8-102 VH-XFU departed Brisbane for Christchurch on June 28 on delivery to Ansett New Zealand. Fokker 50 VH-FNJ which has been wet leased from Ansett Australia continues in service on the Queensland coast. It is expected that VH-FNJ will be returned to Ansett on August 31.
