Fokker has modified one of the original F28s, PH-JHG, as an avionics testbed for the Fokker 100. The 80 hour flight test programme began on September 3.

The Lockheed C-5B began flight testing on September 10 with a three hour sortie from Dobbins AFB. The air base is located across the field from the Lockheed Georgia facility at Marietta, where production of 50 of these improved Galaxy transports is continuing.
