Australian Scenery A Boost For Microsoft Flight Simulator

For those of you who rushed out and bought a copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator 4. 0 (MFS4) after reading about it in the April 93 issue ofAustralian Aviation, I have a treat for you – detailed Australian scenery.

Now you qm take off from Bankstown, shoot an ILS into Sydney, fly to Canberraandbuzz ParliamentHouse, thenfinish your trip at Avalon via Essendon. You can also choose to fly visual or on instruments as both environments are fully modelled.

My review of this product started with a call from Sean Trestrail, who offered to send me a copy of his Australian scenery package. Since I was sick of flying from Mieggs Field in Chicago, I readily agreed. Sean is a Qantas pilot and has produced the local scenery in partnershipwith Paul Thurston, a GApilot. Judgingfromthethousandsof hours theymusthave put into the project, things must be quiet in the “real” world of aviation.
