Plaggio is flying into blackening cloud with a dramatic fall off of orders, down 35% in 1992 over '91, and placing the company into the red. Heavily in debt, Plaggio's creditors have agreed to take part in a L30 million-share issue, giving them a 40% holding in the company. The company is pushing its P.180 Avanti corporate turboprop (pictured) particulary in the US market, and has been helped by a small order from the Italian air force.

Malaysian Eagle:
Western Australia’s EagleAircraft International has sold the remaining 50% share of its unconventional Eagle XT-S composite light aircraft to the Malaysian government for$A4m. The troubled programme is now reportedly in the final stages of flight and structural testing for Australian certification to JAR Very Light Aircraft standards. Initial production will be in Australia and Eagle claims the first six months’ production of 20 aircraft is already sold.
Falcon 2000’s Big Warranties:
Dassault is offering substantial warranties on its new Falcon 2000 business jet, including five-year warranties on the engines, APU, APU and standard avionics fit. These are in addition to existing warranties such as five years on factory-installed equipment, one year on interior completion items and paint and ten years(pro-rated) on the airframe structure.
