The small staff of Australian Aviation would like to sincerely thank all our readers for their strong support over the past year. Name of the game in publishing is circulation, and thanks to you, we have just posted our eighth consecutive bi-annual circulation increase as verified by the Circulation Audit Bureau (CAB). This again makes your magazine the largest-selling aviation journaling Australasia in addition to being the best value. In terms of value for money, our two primary rivals (we are all good friends!) have this year to date (June) published six and three issues respectively for a total of 344 pages and 204 pages costing the reader $12. 00 and $7. 50 for a per-page cost of 3. 5¢ and 3. 7¢ respectively. In the same period Australian Aviation published two issues of 256 pages at a newsstand cost of $7. 00 for an investment of a mere 2. 7¢ per page. Mail subscribers (two and three-year terms) fared even better with an investment of a mere 2. 10 per page. This current edition is of 120 pages rather than the regular 104 as we had so many good features in hand that rather than put them on the back burner we invested several thousand dollars in an extra section. Quality and value comes first at Australian Aviation and with your continued support we will always ensure that that is our policy benchmark.
Squirrel Update:
Nine of the 24 new RAAF/RAN Aerospatiale AS350B Squirrel helicopters will be delivered to Fairbairn Base by early May,21 months after contract signature.
