Coming to the nuisance
Not a week goes by without an RAAA member calling to discuss difficulties that they are having with their airfield owner.
This is particularly true around the time when leases are being renewed/not renewed or changed in some substantial way. Owners are usually trying to maximise their return on their investment and the tenant is bearing the full brunt of these changes. The tenants are often people who have held longterm leases in the governmentowned period and had developed substantial infrastructure on the airfield, infrastructure that has enhanced the use of the airfield. There is nothing illegal in this behaviour by the airfield owners but a worrying trend is emerging, a trend that needs careful analysis.
