China Southern Airlines will increase its Perth-Guangzhou service to daily over the end-of-year peak.
The carrier, which recently moved to year-round Perth services, currently flies three times per week, but will move to seven over the summer, bringing an extra 12,600 inbound seats on board its 787-9 Dreamliners. In total, 55,200 seats will be available over the 14-week period.

“We are excited to step up our Perth–Guangzhou service to daily flights from December 1 through to March 10, 2027, to meet strong peak-season demand and to strengthen direct ties between Western Australia and China,” said William Wang, regional director of sales and marketing for China Southern Airlines.
“Coupled with China’s 30-day visa-free policy for Australian passport holders, travel for business or leisure is easier and more accessible than ever.
“This expanded schedule also provides Western Australians frictionless access through our Guangzhou hub to China Southern’s broad international network, spanning key markets across Europe, Japan, South Asia, and beyond.”
According to Perth Airport chief commercial and aviation officer Kate Holsgrove, the expansion shows “growing confidence in the Western Australian market” and will “further strengthen links between Western Australia and China”.
“Moving to daily services over this period will support inbound tourism, business travel, international education, visiting friends and relatives, and trade between Western Australia and China,” she said.
“We have worked closely with the State Government to further develop our partnership with China Southern Airlines, and this announcement shows that has now paid dividends as we further connect Western Australia and mainland China.
“This announcement is another milestone in the successful partnership between Perth Airport and China Southern Airlines, which spans more than 15 years and has provided a vital connection between China and Western Australia.”
More than 68,000 travellers from China spent $411 million in Western Australia last year, and Acting WA Tourism Minister Dr Tony Buti said the state government is “continues to strengthen Western Australia’s international aviation network as part of its economic diversification strategy”.
“China is one of Western Australia’s most valuable international visitor markets, and these additional daily services create even more opportunities for visitors from China to travel to our State,” he said.
“Growing international aviation is key to diversifying our economy, supporting local tourism businesses and creating jobs across Western Australia.
“These daily flights also strengthen our connections with key markets beyond China, giving more international travellers convenient access to Western Australia through Guangzhou.”
Perth saw a record financial year for traffic in 2025-26, with international passengers up 8.1 per cent to 5.55 million and a grand total of 18,387,992.
