Airlines

The two 737 MAX 8 aircraft, C-FLKC and C-FLHI, operated by Flair crew, have been given the green light to operate Bonza services within Australia, ending an uncertain period for the low-cost carrier after it was forced to delay the launch of Gold Coast flights while it awaited regulatory approval.

Defence

The utility aircraft, created by the newly named NZ Aero, is able to take off and land on shorter, less-prepared airfields common in the country’s diverse terrain.

Airports

Images on social media have shown planes underwater at the airport, while holidaymakers have been left stranded at destinations such as Osaka as flights have been unable to take off for Cairns. The airport on Sunday was hit with 309mm of rain in 24 hours, with floods surpassing 1977 levels.

Airlines

Türkiye’s national carrier, which had applied for 14 flights per week under bilateral air service agreements (ASAs), has been granted an initial 21 flights per week, which will increase to 28 in the latter half of 2024 and 35 the following year. It plans to launch its first flights in March.

Space

Air Vice-Marshal Roberts was Australia’s first head of Space Command, establishing the department from the ground up, and now hands over to her successor, Major General Greg Novak. Roberts joined the RAAF in 1983 as a specialist in aerospace engineering at the Aircraft Research and Development Unit and held over 20 roles during her RAAF career.
