Funded by the Victorian state government, the Advanced Air Mobility Command Centre at Latrobe Regional Airport is set to provide a place for researchers to test, operate, and evaluate emerging drone technology.

The Jericho Disruptive Innovation (JDI) team has prototyped JabX, an uncrewed aerial system based on the Jabiru 400 airframe, as part of Project Camel Train to help move cargo more quickly across Australia’s north.
The deal follows an extensive evaluation program by the ADF and marks a significant step forward in deploying operational counter-small uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) capabilities across Defence.
The agreement will see NIOA provide a range of technical components to SYPAQ’s Corvo Strike Counter-Uncrewed Aerial System platform.
The aircraft successfully demonstrated autonomous taxi, take-off, flight, landing, and response to commands from the Unmanned Carrier Aviation Mission Control System MD-5 Ground Control Station during the two-hour flight.
