Just over a year ago, Australia’s newest low-cost airline Bonza took off on its maiden flight from the Sunshine Coast to Proserpine.
Now, the purple-tailed carrier has six aircraft, three bases, and 38 routes to 21 destinations around the country – 84 per cent of which aren’t served by any other carrier, with 89 per cent not served by any other low-cost airline.
CEO Tim Jordan says Bonza is positioned for the long haul, having flown more than 750,000 customers since its launch, with peak capacity topping 90 per cent on some routes.
Jordan sits down with the Australian Aviation Podcast for a retrospective on how far Bonza has come in its first 12 months – and what the flying public can expect to see in its second.
