SkyBus, owned by Kinetic, is deploying a fleet of 40 buses in Sydney to mark its expansion into the city, having provided services at Melbourne Airport since 1978. The company also operates at Avalon Airport, Adelaide Airport, Hobart Airport and Auckland Airport.

The Russian government has this month gone to the International Court of Justice to try and have the ruling overturned after the International Civil Aviation Organization Council in May concluded it had violated international law on the use of weapons against civil aircraft in flight.

On-time arrivals, on-time departures and completion rates across the industry as a whole lagged long-term averages in a month that Airservices Australia has noted was better than the same time last year, but “impacted by severe winter weather conditions such as fog and strong winds”.

IATA will be looking for next week’s Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to lift the age from 65 to 67, after it was last increased from 60 in 2006. The peak airline body says this move “reflects longer, healthier careers while keeping safety safeguards in place”.

The service, which launched in June, will end on 10 October, with the Flying Kangaroo saying flights had been operating less than 20 per cent full on average and forward bookings were underperforming expectations for the busy season.
