The French certification was granted to the three-engined Dassault-Breguet Falcon 900 business jet on March 13 and was followed by US Type Approval on March 21. Falcon 900 orders currently stand at 51.

The first flight of Cessna’s stretched version of the Caravan utility aircraft took place on March 3. It has a 1.22m (4ft) fuselage stretch and has been specifically developed for Federal Express. The useful load has been increased from 1713kg (3777lb) to 1938kg (4273lb) and if a cargo pod is fitted, as used by Federal Express, cargo space is increased from 11.38sq m (400cu ft) to 12.74sq m (450cu ft).
