The US Army has signed for an additional 14 Beech C-12R utility transports, taking its total order for the type to 29. All 29 C-12Rs (militarised King Air 200Cs) will be delivered to US Army Reserve units for use as utility transports. In all Raytheon/Beech have delivered over 300 King Air based C-12s since 1974. Alliedsignal’s Bizjet Boom
Engine manufacturer AlliedSignal has forecast a boom in corporate jet production over the next decade, predicting that up to 3500 bizjets worth over $US40bn ($A53m) will be ordered through to 2005. AlliedSignal predicts that between 1300 and 1600 new bizjets would be delivered over the next five years, with two thirds of those going to North American customers. The engine manufacturer says that North American business jet fleet growth has restarted after years of stagnation. It also says that Asia will continue as the fastest growing market for corporate aircraft, although off a small base. The study also notes that 25 new or derivative design bizjets are currently under development, further spurring order growth.
Brazil’s Big Cessna Order
Brazil’s Cessna distributor TAM/Transportes Aereos Regionais has ordered 100 new build Cessna single engine light aircraft for delivery from 1997. Cessna will restart production of the 172, 182 and 206 at its new Independence, Kansas plant in July 1996, with new 172s delivered from 1997.
