Bell Wins Us Army Training Helicopter Competition

Bell Helicopter Textron has won a competition to supply 157 new training helicopters for the US Army.

Bell’s entry in the competition was the TH-206, known commercially as the Model 206B-3 Jetranger and marks the first time the Army has purchased an “off the shelf” helicopter. The new helicopter has been designated as the TH-67 “Creek” following a long tradition of naming Army aircraft after American Indian tribes. The new helicopters will be used for the initial Rotary Wing training course at the Army Aviation School, Fort Rucker, Alabama.
