Premium Investment Rating Crucial to Successful Qantas Float:
Qantas chief financial officer, Mr Graeme Jones, has confirmed that a premium grade credit rating will be essential to the successful float of Qantas later this year.
At presstime, in-depth presentations were being given for senior analysts at both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s with the ultimate aim of achieving an A grade rating similar to that of Qantas minority shareholder, British Airways. Very few of the world’s airlines are presently capable of earning such a high grading. It is expected that the result of Moody’s and S&P’s deliberations will be known by mid May.
