Going Greenbird: Ushering in Australia’s eVTOL industry

Electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles are the future of aerial rotor capabilities, and one Australian consortium is collaborating to bring eVTOLs to Australia sooner.
By the end of the 2030s, Australians around the country can expect to see a new generation of rotor-powered vehicles whizzing above their heads – regardless of whether they are city-dwellers or regional residents. In fact, as Australia steams ahead towards the 2032 Olympic Games, its next-gen aerial capabilities will be flashed out on the world stage – which means the clock is already ticking.
Dubbed Advanced Aerial Mobility, commonly referred to as ‘air taxis’, there are many definitions of how exactly this budding new industry could take shape, though the most likely iteration includes a public transit ecosystem built around the use of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles.
