…Vintage Wings of Canada Museum. The P-40 made its first post restoration flight as ZK-VWC on April 23 before being flown to Canada in a C-17 – see photo opposite. It is painted in desert camouflage colours of 260 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force to represent the mount of Canadian Kittyhawk ace Wing Commander James ‘Stocky’ Edwards. (Gavin Conroy)
Fiii To Raaf Museum
The Raaf Museum at Point Cook Has Taken Delivery of an F111. The Aircraft, Serial A8-272, the ‘boneyard Wrangler’ Has Formally Handed Over to the Museum at a Ceremony of Wednesday May 20. Retired at Raaf Amberley the Aircraft Was Transported by Low Loader on a Three Day Trip. Prior to Being Moved South the Aircraft Had the Tail Surfaces Removed Along With the Wings. These Were Transported by Other Road Transport Vehicles. The Dismantled Bomber Arrived at Point Cook on May 1. There It Was Moved to a Hangar Where It Was Reassembled and Made Ready for the Handing Over Ceremony. At the Service, Attended by Some 100 Service Persons and Interested Parties, It Was Mentioned That Another F111, a C Model, A8-125, is Also Destined for the Point Cook Museum.
