The Queensland-based aeromedical organisation is expanding its AW139 fleet to 16, with three other rotary and four fixed-wing aircraft also in its stable. The AW139s will be used to provide emergency medical services as well as search and rescue response missions.
C-FLKC and C-FLHI have been renamed ‘Matilda’ and ‘Bruce’ respectively, and will be re-registered under Australian numbers as their Canadian crews go home. They will become the fifth and sixth proper members of the Bonza fleet, servicing the low-cost carrier’s Gold Coast base.
The NSW District Court ordered the airline pay Theo Seremetidis $6,000 for economic loss and $15,000 for non-economic loss. It comes after Qantas was found guilty of unlawfully standing down Mr Seremetidis for a direction he gave to staff to cease cleaning aircrafts which had landed from COVID-19 “hotspots”.
The extension, expected to commence shortly and complete by mid-2025, will add 1,700 long-term parking spaces to the current P2 carpark, removing the existing 30-minute parking area and spaces for vehicles over 2.4 metres in height. Solar panels will also be added to the carpark’s roof.
