Progressively replacing diesel vehicles across the airport’s operations, the 25 dual-control airfield apron buses and 25 “Citirider” electric shuttle buses has been supplied by Australian electric vehicle manufacturer Bus & Coach International (BCI).

The FIFO and charter operator has finished both the institutional and retail components of the equity raising after it recorded a $38.2 million underlying pre-tax profit, but a $90 million statutory loss, for the 2025–26 financial year.

Opening on Friday, the 12-lane passport control point, relocated upstairs to Level 4 of the International Terminal, is now in a “light-filled atrium” alongside the new security screening area, and means check-in, security screening and passport control will all be on one level for the first time.

The South Australian gateway saw 806,486 passengers in July including transits, a 4.7 per cent increase on the previous year, with total passenger numbers (excluding transits) increasing 4.7 per cent to 9.17 million over the past 12 months.
