Sixteen-year-old Byron Waller landed at Brisbane Airport at 12:46pm on Wednesday, having flown 41,700km in his Sling TSi VH-ZMD over 67 days following his departure on 9 August. He was accompanied by three different flight instructors over the course of the journey.

According to Virgin, the changes “deliver clearer guidelines with simplified baggage allowances and will help improve overhead space availability to reduce delays, enhance safety, and create a smoother travel experience for guests”.
A flight from Sydney landed in Broken Hill with one functioning engine on Saturday, days after an exhaust fire in Adelaide forced the evacuation of another Rex flight to Broken Hill, making it the second engine malfunction on a Rex aircraft in less than a week.
