The government is acquiring four Triton aircraft plus associated support and mission systems as part of enhancements to the Air Force’s Maritime Patrol and Response program.
The contract will provide support to the ADF’s flight recorder and locating equipment (FRLE) across a number of aircraft fleets, and will deliver logistics, flight data analysis and maintenance readouts, as well as repair of specialised equipment.
The new aircraft, which have the ability to take off and land from short and varied airfields, were handed over to the PNGDF at Port Moresby on 2 November.
The quickly constructible, movable, and cost-effective aircraft revetments are open-air structures intended to shield parked aircraft from discovery, blast, and fragmentation damage.
Black Hawk helicopters are replacing Australia’s MRH-90 Taipan helicopters following the crash of an MRH-90 in Queensland during Exercise Talisman Sabre on 28 July and the subsequent grounding of the aircraft.
Rosebank Engineering has previously provided maintenance, repair, and overhaul support to the RAAF on F/A-18A/B Classic Hornet (retired) and in-service F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft.
