The accident on 28 July 2023 killed the Jabiru’s pilot David Maddern and his wife Jan Maddern, leaving the male pilot of the Pawnee uninjured. According to the ATSB, the multiple runways and lack of a tower at the airfield were both contributing factors to the collision.
The event will begin on 22 August in Uluru, Northern Territory, and conclude on 8 September in Carnarvon, Western Australia.
The performance at the ‘Wings, Wheels and Wine’ show in Mudgee on 18 May will be a tribute to aerobatic teammate Glenn Collins, whose Pitts Special stunt plane nosedived into the ground in March.
