The event is being organised by the team behind the Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach, California, which attracts three million visitors.
Australian Aviation was in Warnervale, NSW to chat to the key players for the event that also featured a display by the RAAF Roulettes alongside warbirds such as the Spitfire and Trojan.
The Australian Defence Force will open the gates of RAAF Base Amberley to the public for the first time since 2008 this October as part of its 2022 Ipswich Amberley Air Tattoo.
The newest Australian airshow will take place at Surfers Paradise over three days, and has been supported by the federal, state and local governments, along with the Australian Defence Force.
The aircraft on the schedule include an Orion, Mustang, Harvard, and Huey Helicopter, which will fly over the South Coast from Kiama, Kangaroo Valley and Wollongong, while a Tracker, Dakota, and Caribou will fly past Cronulla, Coogee and Sydney City.
Australia’s largest air show, Wings Over Illawarra, was finally able to take place last weekend, after the 2020 show was cancelled and 2021’s event was postponed earlier in the year.
