Virgin Australia has made an application to the International Air Services Commission (IASC) to allow it to codeshare on Singapore Airlines (SIA) services to Amsterdam and Paris.
In its IASC application, Virgin seeks an allocation of 400 seats per week on the Netherlands route to allow it to codeshare with SIA on Australia-Singapore-Amsterdam services. The carrier is seeking a five year allocation which would be fully used by March 24, 2013.

Virgin has also lodged another application which seeks to amend a previous allocation on the France route which allowed it to codeshare on Etihad Airways services on the Australia-Abu Dhabi-Paris route. The Australian carrier is seeking to also allow it to codeshare on SIA services on the Australia-Singapore-Paris route, which would allow it to use both of its major partners to serve the French capital.
Virgin already codeshares on a number of SIA services from Australia to destinations in Asia and South Africa, while SIA codeshares on Virgin domestic flights.
