The return of Tiger Airways to the Australian domestic market has been delayed at least two more days following the decision by Tiger and CASA to further delay the federal court hearing into the extension of Tiger’s grounding from today until August 5.
“Tiger Airways Australia and CASA are currently in ongoing discussions regarding the suspension and see no utility in having a hearing today whilst these discussions continue,” reads a Tiger Airways statement.

“Tiger Airways Australia flights will, by virtue of the adjournment, remain suspended until 5 August 2011.”
The delay comes as CASA confirms it has completed its investigations into Tiger, and that it has “served” the airline with a series of conditions for its AOC that must be met before it can resume operations.
“Tiger Airways has responded positively and has been providing CASA with the evidence necessary to demonstrate how it will meet the conditions,” CASA said in a August 3 statement.
“Once Tiger Airways has submitted, and CASA has verified, all of the documentation required, CASA will be in a position to decide whether to lift Tiger’s suspension.
“If and when that occurs, CASA would withdraw its application to the federal court.”
