Air Kangaroo Island returned the Shorts 330 VH-HUS to Chartair in Alice Springs on March 1 on termination of its lease. Cape York Air took delivery of Cessna 208 Caravan N977A at its Cairns base on February 27 after the aircraft ferried in from Darwin. Eastern Australia Airlines took delivery of its first Dash 8-200 VH-TQG at its Sydney base on February 24. Schedules effective March 31 show Eastern Australia increasing its Dash 8 schedules on the Canberra to Sydney route to 79 return flights weekly.
Flight West Airlines will add a number of NSW coastal ports to its network from June 1 with the introduction of flights from Brisbane to Newcastle via Coolangatta, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, and Port Macquarie. Flight West will operate Brasilias on direct services between Brisbane and Newcastle and a mix of Bandeirantes and Brasilias on the coastal stopping service.
