Defence Update- CSP Update
More Air Force Support Activities Being Carried Out Commercially
Eleven of 16 Royal Australian Air Force activities in the Defence Commercial Support Programme (CSP) have been won to date by commercial enterprises in Australia. Coupled with four activities that have been won by RAAF in-house bids, the forecast annual recurring savings amount to $33.13 million. With more to come!
And Air Force is just part of the Tier 1 Defence CSP which was set up in May 1991 to start identifying support activities for evaluation under the CSP for decision by mid-1993. The overall Programme, of course, includes making significant savings also in Navy and Army activities, either through contracts going to outside firms, or staying in-house under improved Service bidding procedures.
