The investment, part of the second tranche of AIR6500, will be made over six years through Defence’s existing strategic partnership with Lockheed Martin Australia, providing more than 360 highly skilled jobs in both the Hunter region and South Australia, and supporting the Australian Defence industry.

Commencing on 17 March, the service will operate overnight using 737 MAX 8 aircraft, adding more than 53,000 annual seats between Sydney and Nadi. It comes as operational testing ramps up with passenger trials ahead of the airport’s opening in a month’s time.
