More A-4 Skyhawks being considered for RAN

The US General Aviation Manufacturers Association has reported that sales for the January to June period of this year increased to $US1. 152m compared with $US1. 068m for the same period in 1979. A disappointing aspect was the decline in aircraft delivered to 6,286 compared with 8,863 last year.
The last revenue flight of a de Havilland Comet 4C was made on 9 November from Gatwick when Dan Air’s G-BDIW carried 119 air enthusiasts in commemoration of the first Comet flight 30 years ago. Of the five Dan Air Comets awaiting disposal, one will be preserved and the others will probably be scrapped. In other fleet changes, Dan Air has sold Air Zimbabwe its last two Vickers Vis- count 800s.
