How to Save on Avgas

Enough has already been written about fuel crises in various parts of the flying world, to fill more than a continent-size tank.

In Australia, some pilots are thinking seriously about exchanging a high-powered aircraft for a smaller one – or hiring a smaller aircraft to do their flying, in the belief that there is an avgas fuel crisis in Australia.

AADR doesn’t intend to be drawn into an academic argument about whether there is a fuel crisis or not if it’s a political or anglo-industry “sweetheart” arrangement, or any other endless discussion – but we’d like readers to consider a way or three of saving fuel in flight, and even before take-off.
